About Remitex

Similar to many significant innovations, Remitex originated from the recognition of an inconvenience. Initially, the aspiration was to simplify the process by which students (especially international ones) pay tuition fees to Canadian institutions; however, it later evolved to assist diasporans in transferring or receiving funds between Africa, Europe and North America. This shift occurred because the founders realized a broader need existed in the financial transaction landscape. Although the focus changed, the underlying goal remained the same: to enhance convenience in money transfers.

Our History

Remitex, a subsidiary of WETFIELD INTERNATIONAL LIMITED (a financial technology entity), is authorized and regulated by the Financial Transactions and Report Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) to offer foreign exchange and money transfer services as a Money Service Business. Its registration number is C100000184; however, many may not be familiar with the specifics of such regulations. This oversight is significant because it underscores the complexity of financial compliance, although many businesses operate within this intricate framework.

Our mission

Our vision is a world unencumbered by the fragile constraints of geographical boundaries, where international distances do not hinder the establishment of transactional relationships. We envision a future in which cross-border payments are, however, as effortless and seamless as local transactions. Although challenges may arise, we remain optimistic about this transformation.
